Welcome to the Clinic

children
Leander ISD is committed to providing quality health care for all of our students. The school clinic provides health care for students who become ill or injured while at school. Any special health needs should be discussed with the clinic personnel.

Clinic Reminders

As we enter cold and flu season I would like to give you a few reminders in order to keep our students, staff, and families healthy.

* Please call the clinic if your child is sick with something that is contagious.
* Our handbook states, a student who is ill should be kept home until the student is without fever or other symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, etc.) without the use of medications, for 24 hours.
* In accordance with the State health Department regulations, a student with a temperature of 100.0 or greater must be excluded from school/school vehicles. Parents or guardians will be contacted to pick up their student. The student will not be allowed to return until they are fever free for 24 hours without medication.

Accidents Happen
There are many, many forms of accidents in elementary school. Here are just a few... mud on the slide, spills in the cafeteria, buttons popping off, wiping out during a game of soccer in the dirt, spilled paint in art class, etc. Please pack an extra set of clothes in the backpack for all ages PreK-5th grade. It will save you a trip to the school if they already have clothes in their possession. Nurse Sharon no longer has extra clothes in the clinic. Thank you!

Current Phone Numbers
Please continue to update the school with current telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. It is important we are able to reach you quickly in an emergency and also for routine information we send out via parent link. Thank you!

Please pick up Medications by June 5, 2015

If your student has medication in the clinic it must be picked up on or before
June 5, 2015 at 11:00am.
For safety reasons parents must pick up their child’s medication; this is a district procedure. Medication cannot be sent home with a student. We are not allowed to keep medication in the clinic during the summer. All medication remaining in the clinic after this date will be disposed of properly.
