After 50 spectacular years, the 2025-2026 school year was the last for Faubion Elementary School, and the end of one long and storied chapter of Leander ISD history. In December of 2025, the LISD Board of Trustees made the difficult decision to consolidate the school after months of careful analysis and community engagement.
While this certainly marks the end of a foundational era, the Faubion legacy very much lives on. Members of the staff have taken new roles all throughout the district and will continue to leave their mark, supporting students at campuses across LISD. And in March of 2026, the district's first dedicated early childhood education campus was officially named the Ada Mae Faubion School for Early Childhood, honoring the lifelong educator whose influence has shaped generations of students and families in Leander and Cedar Park.
